I). ISD1700 voice module
The ISD1700 voice module is a simple and practical circuit board which will help you quickly familiarize yourself with ISD1700 chip. It is suitable for full range of ISD1700 chip and is featured with simple operation and complete functions. ISD1700 recording chip is a highly integrated chip of high performance. It can realize multi voice recording, the sampling rate can be regulated between 4K to12K and the power supply range between 2.4V to 5.5V. ISD1700 is also featured with new recording reminder function, when there is a new recording, LED will flash every few seconds to remind user that there is a new recording. In addition, there are 4 voice effects to inform users of the operation results, such as start recording, stop recording, erase, the next one and erase all and etc. The recording data is stored in the FLASH of the chip without any compression to ensure good voice and power-off storage. The chip is equipped with two independent input channels for voice signal, mic and analog signal. In the independent button mode, the chip will automatically switch to power down mode to save power after a certain functional operation is done. In SPI mode, the user can carry out more functional operation on the chip, such as playback any storage address and read/write analog Path Configuration register.

iii).Instruction for ISD1700 module under independent working condition(button instructions)
1. REC:
Keep pressing on the REC button while the LED will light up, now taking to the MIC and your words will be recorded into ISD1700 voice chip.
After recording the first section, release the button and the LED will be turned off. Press the button again and start recoding the second section and so on.
2.Play:
There are two ways to play, namely edge trigger and level trigger. (Note: after recording, playing pointer will stay at the start address of the last recording, playing the last section)
(1): edge trigger: press the PLAY button and current recording will start play, LED flashes during the whole process of playing until the end. After playing, playing pointer will point at the start address of last recording, press the play button again and the last section will be on play.
(2) level trigger: Keep pressing on PLAY button and the chip will play all voice information in loop until the play button is released.
3. FWD:
If this button is pressed before playing, the playing pointer will point at the next section, if it is pressed twice, the playing button will point at the second section. Press this button during playing will pause the playing of the current section and leads to the playing of the next section. If the current section is the last one, then the playing of the last one will be paused and the first section will start to play.
4 ERASE:
Erase of a single section is only effective on the first and last section. When the playing point stands at the first or last section, press this button will erase the first or last section, accordingly, the playing point will jump to the second sector or the last but one section prior to erasing. Keep pressing on this button for three seconds, the chip will enter ¡°Erase All¡± mode, release the button now will lead to the erasing of all voice information in the chip.
5 RESET:
Press this button to carry out reset operation. After reset, both the playing pointer and recording pointer will point at the last section, namely, the playing pointer will point at the start of the last section and the recording pointer will point at the end of the last section. Pressing the playing button now will lead to the playing of the last section while pressing the recording button will start the recording of a new last section following the original last one.
6 VOL:
Press this key to adjust the output voice volume of the chip. The default output of the chip is the maximum value. Each press will lead to a reduction of 4db. When the volume hits its minimum value, each press will in turn lead to an increment of 4db. (Note: after reset, the voice output is at its maximum value).
7.FT direct operation mode:
Short connect FT pin to GND and keep low level will turn direct mode operation on. In direct mode operation, the voice will be directly led from AnaIn port to loudspeaker or AUD output. During recording, if FT is pressed, voice signal from AnaIn will be recorded at the same time.
